Chess

Patrons: Mr P. Mlotshwa, Mr P. Ngwenya

Chess has been successfully adopted as a sport, and some of our learners have earned recognition and selected into the ATS team.

Friendlies

Only one friendly was played against Wonderpark Primary School. These have become our friends and have constantly offered formidable opposition. They have consistently won all friendly games against their high school counterparts . We have also engaged St Columbus and CBC for friendlies in third term.

Southern Region Chess League

Due to problems in aligning club activities among schools, only one fixture was fulfilled against CBC. The League Catch up day scheduled for MCC on 31/05/2025 was rescheduled to Girls College on 02/08/2025. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend due to delay in communication with parents and transport logistics. This means that we forfeited our games and opponents were awarded walkovers on a 6-0 scoreline. In future, it is our wish to avoid such unnecessary situations.
